Hiking

Hiking trails are one of the main attractions of Agerola: they look like floating between sky and sea, and are the popular destination for a higher and higher number of hikers who can walk along the lush nature of Lattari Mountains and - in a very short time - reach the transparent beautiful sea of Amalfi.
Sentiero degli Dei "Path of Gods": (length: 8 Km) this trail starts in Bomerano square and ends in Positano. Following a dirt track you will pass under the so-called "Grotta del Biscotto", a cave with a peculiar geological conformation reminding the texture of the "biscotto", a typical dry double-cooked bread of Agerola. This natural cave hosts century-old little houses built in the rocks. After Colle Serra site, you will be charmed by the phantastic scenario of the Sorrento peninsula.
Sentiero delle fonti: (length: 5 Km) the trail starts in Campora site, close to the water source "Acqua Leggia", and winds along the river Penise in a little green valley among chestnut trees. Along the path you will find ancient housing and rests of an antique powder keg of the Bourbon age, the water sources Fiubana, San Giuliano, Acqua Fredda and, at last, Acqua Vracciara, at 1000 m.o.s.l., where you will enjoy the panorama of the bay of Naples and Vesuvio.
"Cima dello Sparviero": (length: 6 Km) the trail starts in the little S. Martino square, at Campora site, with an ancient flight of steps which is also a century-old mule track. Once you reach Pontechito site, you will have a wonderful view over the Agerola valley. Walk through the chestnut woods and reach the peaks "Cime dello Sparviero" and "Colle delle Vene" and enjoy the marvellous panorama of Amalfi, Ravello and the bay of Salerno.
"Sentiero della Praia": (length: 4 Km) the trail starts in Bomerano square. Follow the mule track leading to S. Barbara caves, where you can admire the rests of an ancient church dating back to the 11th century A.D. Turn right and cross the river bed of "Praia". The ancient path passes through the coastal villages of Praiano and Vettica Maggiore, then reaches the coast. In the nearby of S. Luca Church flights of steps will lead you to Rezzola beach.
"Sentiero dei tre Calli": (length: 6 Km). Leaving Bomerano square, walk along the road to Pendola site and go on, following the directions to Paipo. You will pass by old ruins dating back to the Bourbon age, then go on up to Capo Muro saddle. Turn south following the mountain ridge of Calabrice Mt. and reach Tre Calli Mt., with its panorama point and a superb 360° view of Agerola and the Amalfi coast.
"Sentiero Denti del Gigante": (length: 7 Km) At Pianillo site, behind S. Pietro Church, take the mule track to Locoli and Colle Sughero sites, in order to reach the path "Alta via dei Monti Lattari". Follow the trail westwards, turning around the rocky pyramid of S. Angelo a Tre Pizzi mountain, and reach the cave of "Acqua Santa" water source. From here you can easily reach the highest of the three peaks.
"Sentiero dell'Orrido di Pino": (length: 5 Km) follow the track starting from Bomerano square and reach the mule track passing through the cave of S. Barbara and leading to Furore. Continue along the asphalt road and then onto the path to the Schiato river. The dirt track will pass though a little river, by an ancient mill and bring you back to Agerola, at S. Lazzaro square.

"Sentiero dell'Alba": (length: 4 km) from S. Lazzaro square, follow the asphalt road to Radicosa site, then the ancient mule track up to Murillo Mt., bear south-east. Once you reach Vallone Vocito, come back bearing south and reach the rests of the medieval monastery of Cospita.
"Sentiero dell'Antica Repubblica": (length: 4 Km). At S. Lazzaro belvedere take the ancient, long flight of steps passing though the small grouping of houses of Tovere and Vettica Minore. At the end of your excursion reach the beautiful little beach of Santa Croce!
"Sentiero del Borgo Marinaro": (length: 4 Km) in the nearby of Fausto Coppi belvedere, take one of the flight of steps reaching the coast. Once you are in the deep gorge named "Fiordo di Furore", reach the ancient rural village once inhabited by fishers, and recently restored.
